How to Use

Shilajit resin is simple to use once you know a few basics. Here's everything you need for your first jar.

Three ways to take Shilora Peak shilajit resin: under the tongue, dissolved in water, or in warm milk with honey

How much to take

Take up to 500 mg a day, about one pea-sized portion. Use the metal spoon included with your jar, and keep it clean and dry.

You can take it all at once, or split it into two smaller portions (about 250 mg each), one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Either way, do not take more than 500 mg in a day.

At 500 mg a day, one 50g jar lasts about 100 days.

Three ways to take it

  1. Under the tongue. Place the portion under your tongue and let it dissolve slowly. Expect a strong, earthy, smoky taste.
  2. Mixed with water. Stir your portion into a cup of warm water until fully dissolved, about 30–60 seconds. Use warm, not boiling, water.
  3. With milk and honey. Dissolve it in warm milk or tea and add a little honey for a smoother taste.

Lid stuck? Easy fix

Resin can get on the threads of the jar and make the lid stick, especially when it's cold.

How to open a stuck Shilora Peak shilajit jar lid: warm the lid under warm water, dry it, then twist open

  1. Warm the lid. Hold the jar upright and run only the lid under warm tap water for 30–60 seconds. Keep water away from the resin inside.
  2. Dry it off. Dry the lid and your hands well for a better grip.
  3. Twist open. The warmth softens the resin on the threads so the lid turns easily.

To stop it sticking: wipe the rim and threads with a dry cloth before closing the lid.

What it tastes like

Real shilajit tastes earthy, bitter, and slightly smoky. That's normal and a sign you're getting the genuine resin. A little honey in your drink softens the taste.

Storage tips

  • Keep the lid tightly closed and store the jar in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Always use a dry spoon. Water in the jar can spoil the resin.
  • Resin naturally hardens when cold and softens when warm. If it's too firm to scoop, warm the spoon under hot water, dry it, and try again. If it's too soft, put the jar in the fridge for a few minutes.

How to recognize genuine resin

  • It dissolves in warm water and leaves the water a golden-brown color without gritty sediment.
  • It changes with temperature: firm and brittle when cold, soft and sticky when warm.
  • It has a strong, earthy smell and taste.

These are useful everyday signs, but they can't confirm purity on their own.

Safety

  • Not for children, or for women who are pregnant or nursing.
  • If you take any medication or have a medical condition, talk to your doctor before use.
  • Stop using and consult a healthcare provider if you experience any adverse reaction.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
